This is the image for the news article titled Recreation and Community Services Youth Sports - Ready for Players! As students return to school and we all begin moving forward, the Recreation and Community Services Department is positioned to offer affordable, convenient, fun, and accessible sports programming for youth.

“Rec programming is inclusive to everyone regardless of a child’s level of skill or background.  There is a place for every child in our programs and activities,” explains Youth Sports Program Manager, Sam Sujecki   “As we head into summer and fall, many of our sports leagues will be back in full swing.”

Rec programs are designed to help players develop their coordination, enhance their socialization and learn teamwork skills.  Players will be introduced to the basics so they build a strong foundation for a lifetime enjoyment in sports.

Sports Leagues: All players are assigned to a team, teams practice and play a game each week, and each participant receives a league t-shirt. Cost to participate is less than $40.

In addition to having League sports, we also offer Instructional sports.  Participants receive instruction from an experienced coach or WAWM RCS staff member. Our instructional sports offerings include: tennis, golf, gymnastics, archery, and cricket!  “These are a great opportunity to learn new skills in less traditional team sports or explore the fun these sports have to offer,” adds Sujecki.

“We have many affordable sports opportunities for children ages 4K-8th grade to get back in the game!”
