When the Knights of Columbus in West Allis closed its doors permanently in May 2019, member Jerry Falk saw a unique opportunity. “Jerry is a real friend to us at West Allis Central High School. He is a member of the Knights and the West Allis Rotary. He approached us to have the sign moved from the 92nd street location to our school,” explained Social Studies teacher Dave Owens.

“The sign was an extremely generous donation from the Knights of Columbus,” said Owens. “We are appreciative of their generosity and thankful to Jerry Falk. Jerry takes members of the Interact Club to West Allis Rotary Club meetings each week and is a great mentor to them. He was essential in the donation of the sign.”

In preparation, Innovation Coach, Angela Gerloski, helped to design the new sign. Dean of Students, Shon Hernandez, Assistant Principal, Brian Summerfield, and Mayor Dan Devine helped arrange the permits and installation.

Interact Club assistant, Caroline Hanson stated, “We are also thankful to Dave Owens. He works with Rotary and the Knights and helped make this happen for our school.”
