This year, secondary teachers may see up to 150 students a week through a combination of virtual, distance, and in-person learning. It is important that secondary teachers have the time they need to work with students in these learning environments. Students must also have time to complete assignments and access the help they need to excel.
Check and Connect Wednesdays are designed to provide secondary teachers with time to work with small groups of students and connect one-on-one with students who are struggling.  Wednesdays are also used to rectify attendance records for students attending via synchronous/asynchronous options, upload and grade assignments from virtual, distance, and in-person students and conduct “office hours” to answer questions or concerns from students and families.
Students should:

  • Login to Schoology

  • Work on projects.

  • Complete coursework.

  • Work in online platforms (ALEKS, StudySync, etc.).

  • Check-in with their teacher as needed/directed.

  •  Watch/rewatch class videos.

Teachers will:

  • Have a two hour block for open “office hours” that is communicated to students and families each week.

  •  Have a two hour block of time to work with small groups or individual students who are struggling.

  • Rectify school records and update grades in Skyward.

  • Upload videos and learning materials for students in virtual, distance, and in-person.

  • Provide a list of assignments/expectations for students on Wednesdays.
