In an effort to salute southwest Wisconsin’s top teachers, WISN 12 honors an educator each month.  In April, the kindergarten through fifth grade reading teacher at Hoover Elementary School, Holly Ford, was chosen as the Top Teacher!

Ford was nominated by a parent who wanted to recognize the her hard work and dedication.  Ford inspires students to be excited about reading. She wants them to be passionate about learning.

According to principal, Mike Elliott, “Ms. Ford is extremely dedicated to all the students at Hoover. She greets them outside every morning and builds strong, positive relationships with every child. She fosters their love of reading and builds their confidence by scaffolding lessons so that every child reaches their true potential. She is a valuable part of our learning community.”

“When it comes to reading, some students struggle and even those that excel need an extra push,” explains Ford.  “I love exposing kids to new books and authors. When they say 'I loved that book!’ it just makes what I do that much better.”
