This is the image for the news article titled Top Six Advance to Regional Spelling BeeOver the past several weeks, each elementary and intermediate school conducted spelling bees to determine who will compete at the District’s Annual Spelling Bee later this month.

“We hosted twenty finalists at our District spelling bee. It was a great opportunity for students to showcase their spelling skills, represent their school, and participate in a district-wide event,” said Spelling Bee Coordinator, Caroline Aiello.

The top six spellers from the District Spelling Bee will advance to the regional bee which will take place on the Scripps online platform:

West Milwaukee Intermediate School 
Grade 6

Ben Hooper 
Hoover Elementary School 
Grade 5  

Gautham Manohar 
Irving Elementary School 
Grade 4

Anvesha Deo 
Lane Intermediate School 
Grade 7

Ethan Plier 
Lane Intermediate School 
Grade 7

Donovan Green 
Mitchell Elementary School 
Grade 5

“The top speller will compete at the Wisconsin State Journal State Spelling Bee which takes place at the Mitby Theatre in Madison on March 7, 2020.  After that, the top three spellers from Wisconsin will compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.,” adds Aiello.
