In preparation for a “return to school” like no other, the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District is using Schoology to connect teachers and students during Phase 1: Virtual Learning.
“Schoology is a software program that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication.  We are using Schoology to host virtual learning.  The goal is to make learning more streamlined and organized.  Schoology allows us to manage content, records, assessment data, and communicate with students and families,” said Director of Leadership and Learning, Deidre Roemer.
The program was selected because it allows teachers to create and deliver content in one online location.  It supports content in various formats: text, video, audio, etc.  Students and teachers can access materials anytime anywhere. Teachers can post course/class updates including all assignments synced onto one calendar.
“Schoology is our “one stop shop” for any virtual learning tools and resources students need.  Parents will also have their own login and even if they have children in different grade levels or schools, all the information will be accessible in one location. It’s a tool that helps reduce the number of communication tools, links, and log-ins that a student needs each day,” adds Roemer.
