“Coach Dewitt has recently served as the Boys Head Track Coach and will manage both programs for the 2021 season,” explains Athletic Director, Greg Lucas.

Coach Dewitt has been the Head Boys Track coach for the past seven years, leading the program to as high as third place in the GMC and qualifying 15 different event groups to the State meet over the past six Sectional meets. He has also been an Assistant Cross Country Coach at Hale for the last seven years, where the team has qualified for State two out of the past three years. 

This past year, Dewitt helped coach Josh Truchon to become the school’s first individual state cross country champion.  As an athlete, Coach Dewitt has excelled as a distance runner which has led him to participate in the US Olympic Marathon Trials on two occasions (2016 and 2020).  In college, Coach Dewitt was a two-time All-American in Track and Cross Country while competing for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Coach Dewitt is a math teacher at Nathan Hale. His coaching career also includes being a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College. 

"I'm very excited to be a larger part of the girl's program this year.  With the leadership that exists on the girl's team and the high quality coaches we have on our staff, I believe that we will see excellent focus on simply getting better everyday. That focus, paired with selflessness and positivity, should lead to some really cool outcomes,” said Coach Dewitt.
