We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Connie Bermann has been approved by the Board of Education as the new interim principal of West Milwaukee Intermediate School.

After we completed initial interviews of qualified applicants for this position, we did not identify any candidates that we felt confident would be the right fit for West Milwaukee Intermediate School at this time.  In similar situations in the past, and given how important it is to have leadership identified as we plan for the fall, we considered current administrators for this position.  Given that Mrs. Bergmann knows West Milwaukee Intermediate School well and is an experienced and highly regarded administrator in our district, we feel she is the right person for the principal role.

Mrs. Bergmann began her career in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District as an Intermediate balanced literacy/social studies teacher.  From there, she received her Master of Science in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and spent five years serving as the Assistant Principal at West Milwaukee Intermediate School.

In 2016, Mrs. Bergmann moved to Nathan Hale High School as the Assistant Principal. She carries education certifications for Principal (K-12), Director of Instruction, Teaching Certification Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence (1-8), Social Studies, Science, and is also a Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA).

Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Bergmann has focused on academic achievement and building strong relationships.  She is committed to Deeper Learning, technology, and collaboration.  She has led PBIS teams and implemented school-wide systems for small, flexible student intervention groups based on data.  Mrs. Bergmann looks forward to using the knowledge she has gained in the last four years at the high school in combination with Deeper Learning to help prepare students for high school and lifelong learning. Her goal is that every student is ready to be an advocate for their learning.

We feel that these qualities and many others will help Mrs. Bergmann be successful as the Interim Principal of West Milwaukee Intermediate School. We offer her our heartfelt congratulations and thanks.
