Over the years, the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District’s charter school, Shared Journeys has received lots of support from the community. “Recently, we moved our program to a new location and added an Infant Lab (child day care). It would not have been possible without the support of our corporate partners.” explains Program Coordinator, Lisa Colla.

Volunteers from Kohl's Corporate and Aurora West Allis Medical Center have sent volunteers to help with everything from assembly of new furniture and deep cleaning to organizing baby clothes.

“Last spring, as part of a project led by seniors, we worked closely with Joe Galbraith from Galbraith Carnahan Architects, Apostle Presbyterian Church Board (our landlord), Alpine Plumbing, and Roman Electric to design a coffee kiosk area in the entryway.  Kohl’s and Aurora Medical Center volunteers helped paint the area.

“Now our entire hallway and entryway has a bright and cheery facelift. We would not have our school looking as nice as it does without their support,” says Colla.

Shared Journeys serves pregnant and parenting teens and their children. Check out
their newly renovated school on October 23, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at their Community Open House. Coffee, cookies and tea samples from Swaye Tea will be served.
