Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School hosted a Ford "Drive 4 UR School" event where staff members and the community were invited to raise funds for the school by test driving a Ford.

The Ford fundraiser
began in 2007 as a way for Ford to give back to communities across the country. The idea was simple: Test-drive a Ford vehicle from a local dealership and get money for your school. Since its inception, there have been thousands of Drive 4 UR School events across the country. Ford has donated over $35 million to schools and communities that participate.

Teacher, Carrie Clark, arranged the Drive 4 UR School event with Uptown Ford Motors in Wauwatosa. The event took place at the school. “We had 330 participants that took 634 drives in the vehicles provided,” says Clark, “The whole school was involved, including a student committee who helped to organize and run concessions, advertising, and anything else we needed to make sure the event was successful. It was hasseless experience; all Ford wanted us to do was try out their new cars and to help our school. It was not a sales event and no one tried to sell a car or solicit information. We were thrilled with the turn out and we hope to do it again next year.”

The event raised
$7,880 that will be used to fund projects, off-set the cost of field trips, and help meet classroom needs for the students at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School. “We’re anxious for the coming year. These funds will be put to good use when classes begin!”
