Easton Scherer of West Allis Hale has been selected as the Week 6 Spring Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Huskies to an impressive win over Milwaukee Lutheran. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 4,302 votes were cast, as Scherer's 1,926 were enough to edge out second place Caden Brunell of Columbus, who tallied 837 votes.

On Friday, April 30, 2021 West Allis Hale posted an impressive 40-6 win over Milwaukee Lutheran on Friday, blowing open what had been a 12-0 game at halftime. Easton Scherer scored a seven-yard touchdown on the ground to open the second half scoring, and added a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown to help seal it up in the fourth quarter. He led the Huskies with nine tackles on defense. 

“Easton has played football, baseball, track and wrestled during his time at Hale,” explained Athletic Director, Greg Lucas.  “He is a great competitor and leader.”

Coach Flood, the head football coach at Hale stated “Easton has worked hard all off-season to get ready for his senior year. I’m proud that I had the opportunity to coach him. He gives 100% effort all the time, is a leader, captain and never quits. He defines mental and physical toughness. You can see the evidence by watching him at practice and on Friday nights.”
