The success of Recreation and Community Services Before and After School programs (Elementary Action 330 and Intermediate Action 300) has always been related to its hard working staff members.  Each day they give their all to the students and their families to ensure that each student can learn and grow through structured play in a safe, fun, inclusive, and caring environment.
“Over the time staff have been safe-at-home, they have taken numerous steps for professional development,” explains Bobby Foreman, Program Manager for the Recreation and Community Services Department. “Staff have participated in online safety classes, seminars on creating new and exciting games and activities, Mindfulness training, and nationwide online training held by presenters featured at the annual Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association 2019 annual conference this past fall.”
“The staff continues to express how much they miss seeing their participants and their families during this time.  One of their biggest struggles is not being able to be ‘present’ for them,” said Foreman.
“Action staff set a goal to come out of the “Safer at Home” period professionally better than they were before. Each day they take another step towards providing a higher quality program for our students and their families. We can't wait to get back to Action Programs in the 2020-2021 school year and to showcase all that we've learned.”
