On December 6, 2019, over 45 fourth grade students from Horace Mann Elementary School were part of the Village of Manor Park “Kids 2 Kids” Toy Drive event. Students were invited to pick out a toy that would be given to a needy child. There was face painting, cookie decorating, crafts, hotdogs, and a bouncy house. One young participant was heard saying, “This is the best field trip ever!”

According to organizer, Virginia Strukel, a retired teacher, “It’s important for youngsters to feel the joy of giving. The students are excited to pick out a toy for someone else. Each of the kids get a scarf from us for helping!”

Students from Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School’s Impact Class and West Allis Central High School’s Interact Club were also on hand to help collect toys. Each year, the Village of Manor Park, in the true spirit of giving, transforms into a Winter Wonderland. They collect thousands of toys for children in need each year.
