West Allis-West Milwaukee schools provide engaging learning experiences in classrooms where students are welcomed, challenged, and supported. NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT PROCESS

STEP ONE

Students eligible for 4K must be 4 years old on or by September 1st in the school year they would be attending.

STEP TWO
Complete the enrollment form and send via email to our enrollment center staff.

Please email the completed documentation to enrollment@wawmsd.org.

You will receive an email confirming that our office has received your enrollment forms. Once you have sent us the documentation, you will still need to come to the enrollment center so that we can verify your proof of residency, the student’s original birth certificate as well as your identification.

STEP THREE
Gather the following documents to verify residency. (What should I bring?) 






The adult resident must be present and bring:

  • Completed enrollment form

  • The child’s original birth certificate is required 

  • Picture ID (Driver’s License), passport or Voter Registration Card.

  • One (1) document from Column A- Documents must be in the name of the resident.

  • One (1) document from Column B- Documents must be in the name of the resident.

Column A  Column B 

Documents must have been issued within last 30 days

  • Mortgage statement or property deed
  • Most current Property Tax statement
  • A closing statement for purchase of a home
  • A signed lease including the Landlord’s name, address, and telephone number (will be verified)
  • Current utility bill (eg: gas/electric, water/sewer)
  • Utility deposit receipt for new service
  • Dept. of Health & Human Resources document for benefits
  • Auto insurance or health insurance statement
  • Homeowners or renters insurance


If you have these documents, it helps to bring them too:

  • Immunization Record  

  • Previous school information (Name, Address, Telephone) 

  • Guardianship/Custody Documentation 

  • Student Transcript (Grades 9-12 only) 

Students are not considered enrolled and/or registered until the Proof of Residency process is complete. In accordance with Wisconsin State Statute 121.77(1) any child who physically resides in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District for a purpose other than school attendance may be considered a resident student and may be eligible for tuition-free admission.  A child who resides with an adult other than his/her parent within the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District shall be deemed a resident of the district if the child establishes, to the satisfaction of the Superintendent or designee, that the primary purpose for which he/she lives in the district is for a reason other than attending a West Allis-West Milwaukee school.

STEP FOUR
Visit our Enrollment Center to complete the enrollment process.






Once all documents have been submitted to the enrollment center, it takes approximately 48 hours for the enrollment to be processed. Once the enrollment has been processed, you will receive a phone call from your student’s school informing you of the next steps.

From September through May, the Enrollment Center is closed when school is not in session. From June through August, the Enrollment Center is closed on holidays and during the week of July 4th.
