Welcome to the Morgan Grove Family Center!
MGFC Mission: The Hoover Elementary Morgan Grove Family Center will provide resources for students and families to allow for greater home-school connections and to increase overall student achievement.
Programs Offered
SPARC
After school licensed teacher instructed programs, teaching reading
or math skills to students who are in need of extra support in one
specific area to succeed in grade level work.
Homework Club
Licensed teacher and volunteer supervision of a highly
organized support program in which students who attend receive snack,
reading and math practice as well as assistance on classroom
assignments.
Summer School
Sessions begin in June and extend through July. The early
morning sessions are for students entering 4k though grade 2 and the
late morning sessions are set for our students entering grades 3 through
5. Reading, math, science and social studies, technology as well as
communication skills, are the focus of these sessions. Students will
have opportunities to explore their creative talents as well as be
involved in recreational activities. Breakfast and lunch are provided
for all students.
Spike’s Bookshelf
This is a revolving library for all children involved in the
center. It is built on the “Bring a book-get a book” idea. All children
can participate and students can exchange up to three books at a time.
Family Literacy Nights
*Story Hour
A special book will be read to children and their families by a
“Guest Reader.” Children can attend in their pajamas and a snack is
provided. Dates are announced and posted at the center.
*Shared Journeys Nights
An hour long meeting on topics such as reading, math and
parenting, are provided throughout the year and dates are announced and
posted at the center.
