STUDENT LINKS

Links for students are now listed on the website del.icio.us - what's that?  Del.icio.us is a social bookmarking site that allows users to share favorite websites.  The sites are organized by the use of "Tags."  For example, a website that is for second graders, has been tagged "second" and a math website is tagged "math" and so on.  If a site has activities for students of all grades, it has been tagged "all."  If you're looking for an activity, click on the link below.  It will take you to our list of sites.  Then, you can click on the "Tags" on the right side of hte page to narrow your search.  Finding sites on the topics you are looking for is easier than ever.  Don't forget to add our del.icio.us bookmarks page to your list of favorites at home.

SEARCH WEBSITES FOR KIDS

In general, students should not be using popular search websites like Google and Yahoo for basic web searching.  These sites are geared for adults and will provide the students with too many hits, many of which will not be appropriate for their needs.  Therefore, the search websites listed below provide a much better starting point for students.

Nettrekker (See above)

Ask for Kids (Formerly Asks Jeeves for Kids)

Searchasaurus - Searches for information in magazines and encyclopedias

Kids Search - by EBSCO

Kids Click - A web search for kids by librarians
