On November 30, 2018, 50 students from Jefferson Elementary School were part of the Village of Manor Park “Kids 2 Kids” Toy Drive event. Students were invited to pick out a toy that would be given to a needy child.

According to organizer, Virginia Strukel, a retired teacher, “It’s important for youngsters to feel the joy of giving.  The students are excited to pick out a toy for someone else. Each of the kids get a scarf from us for helping!”

Students from Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School’s Impact Class and West Allis Central High School’s Interact Club were also on hand to help collect toys. Each year, the Village of Manor Park, in the true spirit of giving, transforms into a Winter Wonderland They collect thousands of toys for children each year.

The Residents of the Village of Manor Park also knit over sixty mitten, hat, and scarf sets for students in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District’s intermediate schools. The sets, knit in school colors, were distributed to students in December. Additional sets for young students were given to Pershing Elementary School, Horace Mann Elementary School, and Longfellow Elementary School.
