Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

This class is open to all students, male and female, who enjoy singing. Students will read and interpret music, learn about breathing, tone production, and articulation. They will work to develop singing ability, musicianship and choral skills while performing music that reflects a wide variety of classic, contemporary, and popular styles. This ensemble will have 3 to 4 formal concerts a year. Chorus members will also participate at WSMA solo/ensemble festivals. Out of class participation is required. Performance attire is provided.

Women’s Choir
Credit: 1.00 (2 Semesters)
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

This course is designed specifically for students who wish to further develop their singing ability through reading and interpreting music written for female voices. The choir will perform a wide variety of classic and contemporary music styles including sacred, classic, pop, and jazz. This ensemble will have 3 to 4 formal concerts a year. Women’s Choir members will also participate at WSMA solo/ensemble festivals. Out of class participation is required. Performance attire is provided.

Concert Choir
Credit: 1.00 (2 Semesters)
Grades: 10, 11, 12

This course is designed for advanced male and female singers to further develop their vocal ability and musicianship. Students will read and interpret more complex music and expand their technical skills. This choir will perform a wide variety of classic and contemporary musical styles including scared, secular, pop, jazz, musical theater, and gospel. This ensemble will perform 4 to 5 formal concerts a year. Concert Choir members will also participate at the WSMA solo/ensemble festivals. Out of class participation is required. Performance attire is provided.
