Walker Elementary Nominated for Blue Ribbon Award
(December 11, 2008) For the third time in four years a school in the West Allis - West Milwaukee School District has been nominated for the prestigious “No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School .“ Longfellow Elementary was nominated two years ago. Last year Wilson Elementary School was nominated and made the final cut for this award. This past October Wilson Elementary received its award at a ceremony in Washington, DC.
Few districts in the state of Wisconsin, let alone the nation, can make such a claim as having three school nominated in a four-year period. Walker Elementary School is another example of how the staff puts the children of the West Allis - West Milwaukee School District first. The District should hear sometime in late August or early September if Walker School will make Blue Ribbon status for the 2008 – 2009 school year. Congratulations and good luck to Principal Johnna Noll and her entire staff at Walker Elementary School.
