Walker School will be administering the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam (WKCE) to all 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students during the month of November. No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requires that by the year 2012, 100% of all students will be advanced or proficient in the areas of reading and math on these tests. Annual testing is one way for us to determine our annual progress. The results are analyized and used to develop plans of improvement.
Along with knowledge and attitude toward the test, a key ingredient for success is proper rest and nutrition. Test taking is hard work and takes a lot of energy. If you have a child in the testing grades, please watch for more information coming home regarding the testing schedules and suggestions to increase the success of your child's testing session.
