- Teachnet.com Teachers sharing tips and ideas with other teachers make this website very informative and enjoyable; includes simple to navigate, loaded with easy to use tips (check out the "Take 5" in the Power Tools sections,) as well as, ideas to help with teaching, classroom management, and basic sanity maintenance.
- Syvum Technologies Online Educational Activities Math and Language Arts skills can be honed using the online games and activities on this site. When a child completes a quiz or activity, an e-mail can be sent to a parent or teachers spreading the good news.
- Physical Education games and exercises from TeachersFirst.com The new Teachers First Physical Education section includes resources for all grade levels, with particular emphasis on games and exercise strategies for elementary and middle school teachers. We've been able to find a number of games and activities from international sources, and we hope these will add an element of variety to your gym or playground.
- Multiplication.com Designed to support a book on teaching multiplication skills, this website is full of links to online activities, classroom games, and software. Choose the section for teachers, parents, or students.
- Nickelodean Teachers Do you want to use Nickelodean TV shows in your classroom? They can be taped and used for educational purposes and this site offers a variety of resources including an impressive collection of lesson plans to use with the programs. Particularly worth checking out are the more than 150 excellent lesson plans for each episode of Nick News.
- AOL@School Launched to the general public May 2000, AOL@School is targeted for teachers that want to integrate the Interent into their classroom; but don't have the time to find ways to do it. For teachers just starting out on the Internet, this is a fine website with resources for students, teachers and administrators. Built-in Internet search filters let nervous teachers feel a little safer. Some of the sources for lesson plans, for example, are ERIC and SCORE, two of the sites listed here on Blue Web’s. Teachers are also invited to create a website, or add to their school website with easy to use templates.
- National Audubon Societies E-Nature.com Kudos to the National Audubon Society for this great site. Now, you have access to field guides for more than 4800 species of plants and animals. Start a list for you, as an individual or for your class, and add species as you see them. Find out more about various habitats in the US, or ask an expert about a species you have observed.

Designed to support a book on teaching multiplication skills, this website

The Presidents of
the United States Find out all the information about the past
presidents of the United States. Students can discover typical bibliographic
information, or go beyond the ordinary, by studying the text of famous
presidential speeches, the educational background of each president, how
they used military power, and who was appointed to the US Supreme Court
during their term of office.

Kids Keep an eye on this newly launched Flash-y (Flash is one of those
plug-ins that allows more animation) site that uses multimedia technology to
get to the heart of current events. New stories are added every Tuesday and
Thursday, allowing kids to learn about diverse topics such as sea horses and
the Napster controversy.
Stories to Grow By This site
has many great stories for children to read and learn from.
Math Stories This site promotes
problem solving and critical thinking skills. It has numerous story problems
broken down by grade level, skills applied, and topics.
ALFY - The Educational Web Portal for Kids
ALFY, The Educational Web Portal for Kids, is stock full of educational
sites and resources to supplement elementary school curriculums so that
teachers don't have to spend hours surfing the net. ALFY also contains its
own theme-based interactive stories, crafts, activities, lesson plans and
much more. ALFY will provide free training to linked schools and districts
on how to use the site effectively to achieve specific curriculum standards.
ALFY is a free site for educators.
Teachers First -
Reading Collection Reading is essential, especially for elementary
students. TeachersFirst's reading collection includes dozens of author
sites, book lists, and other resources to help make reading interesting.
You'll find everything from beginner resources to lists of good books for
readers who are ready for something "beyond young adult."
Math.com Lessons and resources for
math teachers of all ages. The references are very useful, such as
English-Spanish Math Translations and the Glossary of Math Terms. You can
generate Algebra Worksheets online, as are test prep for the SAT, ACT and
more. Some links on this site are for registered (often paying) users, but
there is much a math teacher to use with his/her classes.
Maps and Globes This site was designed by the USGS, the Department of
the Interior and the US Dept of Education so that students can learn and
review facts about geography. Time zones,landforms,and water forms are some
of the subject areas available. Interactive quizzes let students test their
knowledge(teachers can use these quizzes to assess student knowledge prior
to the introduction of a unit.)

subject area. There are also sections for parents and teachers.
Bens Guide to U.S. Government for
Kids Created by the Government Printing Office, this well-designed site
introduces children to how the government works. It covers the U.S.
Constitution, how laws are made, the branches of government, and
citizenship. The site is divided into sections aimed at age groups K-2, 3-5,
6-8, and 9-12. It also includes games and activities as well as extensive
links to other government related sites. There is also a section for parents
and teachers.
Funology.com: The Science of Having
Fun! This colorful site is full of activities for young kids to learn
how to make things, explore the world, and discover new skills. Sign up for
the free newsletter that includes jokes, tricks, and creative craft ideas.
Freezone FreeZone knows that when

KidsHealth.org for Kids Calling All Kids! Ever wonder how the human
body works? What makes you sick? Or how to keep safe? Get all the answers to
your health questions in this "kids only" section. Elementary students will
like the games like "Hey, What Bit Me?" Teachers can use this as a resource
when health related questions come up at school.
Peace Corps: Kids World
This Peace Corps site for kids is designed to educate and entertain children
about world geography and the cultures of other countries. Children can also
send electronic postcards, read folk tales from around the world, download
coloring pages and test their geography savvy with an interactive game.
The
Underground Railroad This National Grographic site lets you follow the
footsteps of Harriet Tubman, who led hundreds of runaway slaves to freedom.
The site includes a short interactive journey, classroom ideas, maps, a
timeline, and more.
The Learning Kingdom With
an online learning center and free mailing lists covering math, science,
language arts, and history, this site includes games and three daily
