Receiving the 2011-2012

"Wisconsin Schools of Recognition Award"

For the third time, Longfellow has received this prestigous award for having met AYP (annual yearly progress) goals under the federal government’s education law for the past two years.  In addition, student achievement on state mathematics and reading assessments is higher than schools with similar enrollment and grade configurations.

"Student Authors Honored!"

Congratulations to Mrs. Wandsneider and her 2010-2011 second graders on winning the Grand Prize in the 2011Scholastic's "Kids Are Authors" book contest.  On September 15 the young authors were presented with plaques, medals, and a copies of their book. In addition, Mrs. Wandsneider and Longfellow Elementary received $5,000 in Scholastic merchandise.  Check out their television appearance on CBS 58 or learn more about the book at Longfellow's Library Media Website.
