WELCOME

As we begin to learn about the geography of the United States, we will be taking a look at the landforms that are found in the regions of our nation.  Landforms are naturally formed features found on the surface of the Earth.  They are defined by their shape, size, and often location.  Landforms can include large features such as plains, plateaus, oceans, mountains, lakes, and valleys, as well as smaller features such as inlets, hills, eskers, and canyons.

In the early history of our country, landforms had a big influence on the movement and settlement of people.  While learning about various landforms, we will also discover how they affected the growth of our nation.
