PARKING CHANGES AT JEFFERSON SCHOOL

Effective our first week back after Winter Break, we are making changes to the way parking is handled at Jefferson School.  All staff, including our SAFE workers, will be displaying a Jefferson Bear Parking Pass visible from the front windshield of their car.  Only vehicles with this special pass or those temporarily on the site making deliveries will be permitted on the playground/parking lot area between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm.  Parking will only be authorized on the far east side of the playground area and no longer permitted behind the school building on the south side.  No vehicle without a parking pass will be permitted on the playground at any time during the school day.  Students may be dropped off and picked up from Grant Street or from South 74th Street.  There is also one hour parking on the north side of West Becher Street.  Some parents have gotten into the habit of parking behind the school to wait for their student’s dismissal at 3:30pm.  This will no longer be permitted until after 4:00pm.  The only exception to this will be during school concerts and special events.  The WA Police Department will be helping us to enforce this policy by issuing tickets to any unauthorized vehicle.  We appreciate your support in making our playground a safer place for our students.
