Booster Club

The Booster Club is trying to gather information pertaining to any post high school athletic accomplishments. Our vision is to put together a Wall of Fame near the fieldhouse, that would recognize the athletes. If you have participated in a sport, we would appreciate your help. Or if you know of anyone that did so, please share this info with them.

In 1971 football coach Phil Sobocinki, gathered parents together, along with athletic director Bill Fahrenbach, to form West Allis Central Booster Club. Meeting in the lunch room of the old Central on National Avenue, the group decided to make the club all inclusive to sponsor and support athletics, through fund-raising and encourage school spirit.

While the names and faces have changed through the years, the commitment to athletics remains strong. The club has been instrumental in building, maintaining equipment, and supporting the trainer for the weight room. In addition, the club funds the athletic trainer, provided funding for the sound system and dividers in the field house, and supporting teams financially. These contributions are made possible through the membership and involvement of family, friends, and alumni.  Meetings are open to everyone. They are held the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm in the teacher’s lounge.  Fund-raising opportunities for teams include Miller Park, State Fair Parking, Silent Auction, Pancake Breakfast, and concessions.

The concession stand at home football games and most home events at WAC field house, are run by the various teams. Please contact your coach for exact dates or check the school/Booster Club web site.

The Greater Metro Conference will be raising admission prices for all conference and non-conference events for the 2011-12 School year. The new rates are $5 for adults and $4 for students and seniors.

The best way to beat this price increase is to purchase your WAC Booster Club’s, Pay Here, Stay Here Pass. This pass to regular home athletic events will be on sale at the forms and fee day at school until December 1st. If you purchase a pass on registration day, your student’s school ID will be marked as a Booster Club pass holder and they can use this to get into all regular home games for all sports. Parents will also receive a card to be used by other family members. The cost is $45.00 prior at registration, and $50.00 after that time. Profits from the passes are donated to the athletic program and provide scholarships for seniors.

A reminder that the Booster Club pass does not work for WIAA Regional and sectional events, or team Invitiational events. The pass is accepted for all conference and games involving Hale and Central High Schools, home and away. It would not cover invitationals or WIAA events at Hale involving Central teams.
