2010 - 2011 School Profile

Lincoln Intermediate School, located at 7815 W. Lapham Street, is one of three Intermediate Schools in the West Allis – West Milwaukee School District serving 354 students for the 2010 - 2011 school year. We have earned the honor of being named a "Lincoln Legacy School" as designated by the Bicentennial Commission from Washington, D.C. Lincoln, in the center of the WAWM School District, is in its third year as an Intermediate School after years of being a Kindergarten through 6th grade Elementary School. Lincoln is now operating as a 6th through 8th grade Intermediate School.   Some of our students have had the honor of being at our school since kindergarten due to the fact that students and parents from the former Lincoln Elementary School were offered the option to stay at Lincoln Intermediate instead of transferring to a different elementary school during the transition to an Intermediate School in the 2008 - 2009 school year.

At Lincoln we infuse the "Capturing Kids Hearts" as well as PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) curriculums into our school culture to promote positive relationships and behaviors. Currently the students at Lincoln Intermediate School in grades 6 through 8 are required to take core academic classes in language arts, math, science, and social studies. In addition to these core classes students are required to take reading or foreign language (determined by reading proficiency – French, German, or Spanish), test prep, character lessons, and receive homework help in the academic areas), Physical Education, and up to three more semester electives. The electives include: Art, Band, Chorus, Information Media 7, Fabrication 7, and Orchestra. Lincoln Intermediate also offers a reading intervention class for anyone not reading at their current grade level. Extra-curricular activities include: Boys and Girls Basketball, Book Club, Cross Country, Homework Club, Pom Pons, Track and Field, Video Club, and Wrestling.
