West Allis Central High School

In June 2005, West Allis Central High School celebrated the graduation of its 100 th graduating class. This rich educational tradition offers a wide curricular base to meet the many needs of its student population. Central offers a strong advanced academic curriculum for those students heading to higher education after high school. The accelerated course work begins at the freshman year level and expands to numerous Advanced Placement courses that are available during the junior and senior years.

Central also serves a Special Education community that includes the severely cognitively disabled students. The community that is established at Central High School is a tribute to all the students that have created this very special and very outstanding educational environment.

Central High School has enjoyed a school cumulative grade point average of over 2.50 for the past four years. In the area of Advanced Placement course work, Central students have always scored among the best in the state. Leading the initiative were the 19 calculus students who, in 2004, all passed the test and 17 of whom received the highest rating possible (5).

A well diversified educational institution Central offers athletics for both boys and girls and has been very successful in these ventures. The fine arts aspect of the building is lead by the music department; the band, orchestra, and choirs. Central has been considered a strong musical institution and has provided the community with outstanding musical theater over the past many years.

Lead by a strong administrative staff, who work closely with the teaching staff, Central has been a leader in educational initiatives offered to students. Offering a freshman transition program that affords incoming students the opportunity to experience success their first year to providing a course to help new students with organization and study habits, Central High School works hard to meet the various needs of its student population.

The Central educational environment can best be described as a unified effort to work toward guaranteeing the success of each student. The sense of caring is what sets this high school apart from so many of the others. Supported by very strong parent organizations in the Booster Club (Athletics), West Allis Central Music Association

( Music), and the PTA, Central boasts of strong parent involvement.
