Snow Day Make Up Notice

(April 8, 2008) - The West Allis-West Milwaukee School District has received a statement from Michael George, Director for the Office of Content and Learning for the Department of Public Instruction, regarding the data we provided and our proposed resolution as it pertains to the potential make up of this year’s snow/cold days when school was not in session. 

Upon his review of the data our District provided, the Department of Public Instruction has concurred with our determination that pending any additional snow days the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District does not need to extend the school year to make up for the days lost to snow/cold at the elementary and middle school levels.  The high schools, Central and Hale, will move final exams forward through the last day of school on June 12, 2008, to meet the necessary instructional requirements.
